3D Portraits Brooklyn was created by Clay Budin, an artist and designer with over 20 years experience in computer graphics and technology.  He has worked on numerous TV commercials, feature films, museum shows and fine arts projects.  This venture is the realization of his dream to combine his interest in cutting-edge technology with his love for photography and the expressive arts.

With his relaxed manner and terrific sense of humor, Clay has a real knack for putting people at ease and drawing out their inner warmth and individual personality. He believes that the essence of good portraiture is patience and observation, creating a comfortable setting that invites his subjects to be themselves and then capturing that moment, gesture or emotion when we get a small glimpse into a person's soul. 

It took almost a full year of intensive research and development to create the provisionally patented 3D Portrait process in use at the studio right now, and many technical and creative hurdles were overcome during that time. We think that this is an entirely new and exciting way of capturing a likeness, preserving it in beautiful materials and presenting it for all to see.
